H13/1.2344 Tool Steel
H13/1.2344 hot work die steel is an air-cooled hardened steel, a multi-purpose chromium molybdenum alloy tool steel, widely used in hot work and cold work tool processing applications with better toughness, better thermal strength and thermal fatigue properties And certain wear resistance heat treatment deformation is small. Application: commonly used in the manufacture of die casting dies for aluminum castings, hot extrusion dies, tools for perforation, mandrels, press forging dies.
In steel H13/1.2344, the molybdenum and vanadium act as strengthening agents. The chromium content assists die steel H13/1.2344 to resist softening when used at high temperatures. H13/1.2344 die steels offers an excellent combination of shock and abrasion resistance, and possesses good red hardness. It is capable of withstanding rapid cooling and resists premature heat checking. Tool Steel H13/1.2344 has good machinability, good weldability, good ductility, and can be formed by conventional means.

H13/1.2344 alloy steel is often used for die casting dies for aluminium, magnesium and zinc, extrusion dies for aluminium and brass, liners, mandrels, pressure pads, followers, bolsters, die cases, die holders and adaptor rings for copper and brass extrusion.
H13/1.2344 Tool Steel is a versatile chromium-molybdenum hot work steel that is widely used in hot work and cold work tooling applications. The hot hardness (hot strength) of H13/1.2344 resists thermal fatigue cracking which occurs as a result of cyclic heating and cooling cycles in hot work tooling applications. Because of its excellent combination of high toughness and resistance to thermal fatigue cracking (also known as heat checking) H13 is used for more hot work tooling applications than any other tool steel.
