H11/1.2343 Tool Steel
H11/1.2343 tool steel consists of less vanadium than the commonly used H13 hot work tool steel. This gives H11 steels the higher toughness, with some reduction in wear resistance and temper resistance. H11 tool steel is a deep-hardening, air-hardening steel and H11 alloy steel could be deep hardened by heat treatment and air-quenching. That gives minimal size change during heat treatment. H11 how work steel also has super resistance to thermal fatigue cracking and superb resistance to gross cracking and thermal shock when water cooled in service.

Heat Treatment
1 +A: Annealed (full/soft/spheroidizing)
2 +N: Normalized
3 +NT: Normalized and tempered
4 +QT: Quenched and tempered (water/oil)
Applications
H11 steel is often used for highly stressed structural parts such as aircraft landing gear.
Some typical applications: Hot punches, die casting dies, forging dies, hot shear blades, hot gripper dies, and extrusion tooling.
The tools produced from H11 chromium hot-work steels can be cooled using water without damage as these steels have low carbon and alloy contents.
